2005 Assemblée constitutive NUWEL France

The inaugural meeting of NUWEL France was held on 25 February 2005 and launched by Ferdinand Corte, Fred Forest's loyal lieutenant, who agreed to be the honorary president.

The meeting took place at the Galerie Patricia Dorfmann and was attended by a number of leading figures including Clément Pelissier, Etienne Amato, Yann Thomas, Stéphane Tuvi, Karim Touil, Sébastien Chamoz, Thibaut Brousse, Melki and many others.

Ferdinand Corte's ability to bring together people from different backgrounds and of different ages has always struck us as astonishing. We think this is certainly due to his own personality, but also to the strong symbolic content of all his projects...

My very dear Ferdinand, we all miss your creativity and your energy, especially me.

My very dear Ferdinand, it is with hindsight that I realise just how much you gave of yourself to my work, and I thank you very much for that ...

LONG BIOGRAPHY OF FRED FOREST

Fred Forest has a special place in contemporary art. Both by his personality and by his pioneering practices which mark his work. He is mainly known today for having used one by one most of the communication media that have appeared over the last fifty years. He is co-founder of three artistic movements: those of sociological art, the aesthetics of communication and ethics in art.

He represented France at the 12th São Paulo Biennale (Communication Prize) in 1973, at the 37th Venice Biennale in 1976 and at Documenta 6 in Kassel in 1977.
